Integrative Therapies for Traumatic Stress Management:

developing coping skills through cognitive processing therapy and artistic practices

The workshop “Integrative Therapies For Traumatic Stress Management” is rooted in the powerful concept of cognitive processing work in conjunction with expression through creative practices, which reduces PTSD symptoms and depression and makes it easier to process personal traumatic experiences.

This program is designed to help develop techniques to manage personal traumatic stress through a combination of the following methods:

• CBT-based recreational cognitive processing work,

• Integrative artistic practices for the development of coping skills,

• Comprehensive education about the physiology of trauma,

• Guided introduction to art as a language of emotioons.

The 8-week program combines PTSD coping skills, group therapy, and art experience to help individuals to identify and heal varying degrees and different types of trauma in a supportive multimodality healing group. In the joint exploration of underlying issues, the coaching team and clients build a shared understanding of the problem and continue learning coping skills by combining cognitive exercises and art practices.
